What is your muse?

My muses are my parents, family, friends, and anyone that has impacted my life in one way or another. They have shaped who I am and who I continue to strive to be. My environment and the people around me are my inspirations and that is why I find the greatest satisfaction in doing whatever I can to make them happy, even if it’s just some food and a cup of coffee :)

What do you hope guests takes away from your work?

Growing up working for my parents in their bakery since the day I could count and stand on a milk crate to see over the counter allowed me to grow with my community and be a part of people’s lives for decades. We were there to feed the cravings of families and when they had children, we watched their kids grow into adults and they too, having children of their own, allowed us into their lives by making our food and hospitality a tradition for generations. My hope for guests at M&M is that they can FEEL the passion we have for our community’s growth and find a sense of tradition along the way because we’d love to be a part of it.

What is your favorite part about M&M?

Hands down, the team. Curating a team full of young and talented people with so much potential from all walks of life and providing them with what they need to succeed and the opportunity to shine is my greatest responsibility. Supporting a team of people with genuine kindness and a sense of family are the roots that make everything else easy to love.

• When I sprained my ankle badly in high school - “You need to work. That’s the only way you’ll get better.” (what can I say, it worked!)

What is your muse?

My inspiration in life is to help others. With my degree in Business and Exercise & Wellness, it has shown me that there is something about making someone else’s life better by being able to provide a service that can have an influence in many ways. I have been surrounded in a world that neglects wellness in all aspects of life (physical, mental, spiritual) and I’d love to be the one to help them find balance.

What do you hope guests takes away from your work?

I hope people will see the passion I have for working with people. I want to give them the best experience they could have while making them feel appreciated and valued as a guest.

What is your favorite part about M&M?

Being able to meet new people and hear their stories.

What is your muse?

I've been lucky to have a lot influence to when it comes to cooking. I thank my mom for always pushing my lil sister and I always to try new food, even if we didn't like it. She would always be experimenting in the kitchen and would call different foods with weird names to get us to eat certain things. Another influence to pursue culinary really happened when I was in middle school I had to get acl reconstruction surgery and was down for quite awhile. During that time I watched a lot food network, Anthony Bourdain, and Wolfgang Puck. I was inspired to cook and travel, the idea that I could take this trade anywhere was really appealing to me. I grew up in the Bay Area so I felt like I could travel anywhere, every type of food was within a 10 mi radius. So I was able to try an assortment of different foods and different styles of food.

What do you hope guests takes away from your work?

That people see the care and love that we put into the food and the time.

What is your favorite part about M&M?

That I can be creative. I have been encouraged to do so but not to the degree here.

What is your muse?

My friends and family would be my biggest muse. Taking flavor profiles they love and introducing them in different mediums and combinations. I also take inspiration from things I encounter while traveling. It’s crazy how an appetizer I had in Chicago became the inspiration for the donut I created for the Downtown Donut Festival.

What do you hope guests takes away from your work?

I hope guests take a new experience with familiar flavors when they eat the pastries I make. I pour my heart and soul into the work I do and I hope that speaks to the guests. The goal for me here at M&M is to be able to provide something for everyone. Whether you like fresh and fruity pastries or things on the decadent side, my hope is that each person will find something they love in our pastry case.

What is your favorite part about M&M?

My favorite part about M&M is being able to run wild creatively. Between the Cake of the Moment, Weekend Specials, and flavor profiles that rotate monthly there is always an opportunity to experiment a little. It’s fun to be able to play at work; that’s when it doesn’t feel like work at all.
